We went to the best Friendsgiving party recently and I’m now obsessed with the idea of having every party be a wig party.
That’s right, instead of Thanksgiving we had Wigs-giving. We all wore wigs!!!
Which was just so much freaking fun.
What is Wigsgiving?
Wigsgiving as a term is new to me, but one I’ve quickly gotten excited about.
It is Thanksgiving, but with WIGS!
I always love a chance to dress up for any occasion.
We adore our annual Friendsgiving party, but getting to wear wigs to it… took the whole thing to another level.
The amount of silly fun that comes when you ask everyone to show up in a wig is something I’ll certainly be using for future dinner party ideas.
How To Host A Wigs-Giving Thanksgiving Dinner
Plan your dinner as normal, but clarify on the invite that everyone must show up in a wig of their own choosing.
To ensure excitement you can have an award for best wig of the night, funniest wig, most attractive wig etc.
It’s also a good idea to have a couple extra wigs on hand, just incase someone forgets their VERY-IMPORTANT party accessory.
One fun thing about wearing wigs to a traditional family event like Thanksgiving is that it instantly makes things less awkward and relieves any tension in the room.
It’s pretty hard to get angry with Uncle Tom when he has a long flowing mullet wig on his head ;).
Especially with the difficult last couple weeks our country has had, we can all use a little family tension relief while we celebrate together.
We were not the first ones to think of Wigsgiving. I just love how this party idea has caught fire lately.
Here are a few fun items found to make your party the best:
- Wigsgiving cups
- Wig party garland
- The cutest wig cookies
- Wig chartuture on a head form
However you celebrate with friends and family this year, I hope it is filled with Thankfulness and fun. Because after all, that’s what the holidays are all about.
If you’re going to be together, you midaswell make it fun!
Happy celebrating – Victoria
